Heaven

Will I investigate what heaven means to different people that are around me, I find out that we all have one thing in common. And it was that we all think that heaven is a mental state. Which means that this space can vary depending on the mentality of the person. And if I’m being honest I got really surprised because I always thought that religions and beliefs change the perspective of the person, which is not a surprise. We as well can see how everyone believes in hell, just that they have a slightly different opinion about it, being the most notorious that few of them don’t think hell is a place of punishment. When I personally agree, because I think the concept of hell had been very “shape it” in convenience.

Another question that I asked was “why heaven was associated with goodness and positive things’ ‘. Where the majority answered it was because of Catholicism. Because they sprayed all over that heaven was just like that. and people really liked the idea of a comfortable place. Let’s be honest, the fact that it may be a place where you can go when you die and is going to be positive, it’s fascinating. However, I noticed that some people no matter their belief they still conserved this place to those that really deserved or earned. They think that the only way to enter heaven is to be good on Earth. And if you weren’t then you are going to be punished. Even so in their answer they all said that they would like to meet their family members and some friends, no matter the circumstances.

As an extra I told the people to react to a video where there were different people from different cultures and religions going to heaven. And whenever they meet Pedro he would say “pass, I’m glad to see you, but please be quiet when you go to room 8” so they did. Until some person asked why and he answered “because catholic people think they are the only ones here”. Where the answers were the same, they kinda deserved it but at the same time it’s a little bit brutal because of how they mocked everything.

Grand grandmother

I never truly met my grandmother because she died in the 90s’. But she was one of the main characters in my mom’s childhood and youth-adult life. So basically she teaches my mother a lot of different things, like: sewing, cooking, gardening etc. And even though she is not physically here, she still is a person with a lot of impact in our life. Sometimes when my mom and I talk she tells me stories of her and her grandmother and how it would be if I could know her. One particular thing that my mom told me about her was that she absolutely loved nature, she even had roses of every color, some fruit trees and other pretty flowers. Which lets me understand a little more about my mother and her passions cause she also loves gardening.

Broken English

Many people have a big fear to talk in another language because they are scared of people who don’t understand them or their judgement. That’s why I found it very interesting and conmovedor the fact that this woman (Molina’s mother) didn’t care about that and talked the language the best way that she could. Nowadays, it’s easier to learn a language in your own way, because of technology. But back then, there wasn’t that option. It’s just to get on the road and if you crash, that’s it; which makes it more scary.

That’s why I don’t think that if you don’t know who to talk a language correctly it’s mean you are dumb, it’s simply that’s is not your strongest. So that’s why I don’t judge people by that, so I’m not embarrassed about them. Yes, sometimes it can be difficult to understand them, but what about it? Just help them or try to make a midterm.

9/11

•  How old were you when you found out about 9-11?

I was in my third grade with the “main teacher” and she asked us, `What is special about today?’ And none knew, so she proside to tell us, and she made us ask our parents etc.

•  What were you told about what happened on that day?

I was told that some terrorist stole a three plane where two crash toward the twins towels but the other were save because of the passagers. I also got told that both of my parents were on a court.

•  Why does the writer say the country is now “split in two”?

She said that because half of the country remembers 9/11 as the worst day that the USA had, inconsecuente that day they feel really sad and bad. While the other half remembers them as a thing that was a long time ago but it was really bad.

•  What are the two sides?

The two sides are: September 11 and 9/11.

•  Who might be at fault for what happened?

The people that decided to attack the twin towels.

•  Have attitudes changed?

No, a lot of people are still mad because of what happened.

•  The author states that ” we never understood what a ‘ bad day’  meant until that morning”. How would  (or can) you compare what is happening now to what happened back then?

I think I can compare that with what happened I’m 2019, when people discovered that we were being robbed and that a lot of lives could be safe but they simply decided to the contrary.
